Phytotherapy and Homeopathy: The Power of Herbal Healing

Phytotherapy and Homeopathy: The Power of Herbal Healing

English Translation

Plants have been used since ancient times to treat various diseases. In fact, they are among the first remedies humanity turned to in the quest to support health. Most of these plants are still applied today, with the key difference being that we now understand their chemical composition and exactly what causes their therapeutic effect. Teas, essential oils, and dietary supplements containing plant extracts are favored for their high tolerance and the absence (in the vast majority of cases) of serious side effects, while remaining highly effective—especially regarding chronic diseases. It is no coincidence that modern achievements in medicine and pharmacology have allowed phytotherapy (the science of plant-based treatment) to become a preferred medical discipline practiced by millions of doctors worldwide.

Plants also hold a fundamental place in nutrition therapy, and many are widely used in Eastern medicine and Ayurveda. A major advantage of all medical branches utilizing medicinal plants is their compatibility (with very few exceptions) with all existing treatment methods and tools, including homeopathy. People treated with homeopathic remedies (most of which are derived from plants) should know that the only condition for homeopathic treatment is to avoid any oral activity—eating, chewing gum, candies, or brushing teeth—10 to 15 minutes before and after taking the medicine. By observing this condition, we can safely combine homeopathy with the use of medicinal plants in the form of teas, supplements, essential oils, and more.
